Lesson learned: Don't mess with the Marshals.

You cannot just shoot someone in this country for not coming out of a hotel room, phone booth, bathroom, or voting booth. No matter what he was wanted for, it does not warrant killing him for bolting his door and making the ski-mask boys sweat in the hot summer air. Them ninja suits are a real sweat suit in August. Makes one likely to want to mop things up before they can't keep the ski-mask on due to the heat.

The release stated Mathis was confronted in a hotel room but did not elaborate on whether he had a weapon or made any aggressive action that caused officers to fire. Sounds like it might be another field trip outing by the JBT Class of '03 from Janet Reno University...
IOW, another summary execution -- AKA "Murder by Cop"...

[He also was a co-leader and enforcer for a crack cocaine ring in Long Island, N.Y. and was wanted for conspiracy to distribute cocaine, the Marshals Service said.]
With those credentials, he could be in line for mayor of Washington DC.
