When it so happens that those soldiers are being used to an immoral and tyrannical end, and when it so happens that those soldiers are frequently engaged in the criminal acts of rape, looting, and murder against the civilian populations of the state, then no. There is nothing wrong with acting in self defense to impede them including by force if necessary.

Wrong. General Lee was a man of the highest character as the testimony of his compatriots, enemies, and an abolitionist. This type of post is exactly what I am referring to; no one can look back at his life and find anything to really condemn him with. No, we must defer to cheapshots.

But if you would like we can compare his actions and deeds to any Federal Officer of that time, as well as their superiors in the administration, and their silent consent to murder, rape, and looting of the civilian population in certain States.

I believe you have never been in the military and it is a matter beyond your ability to comprehend. Of course, I would never presume that such a trivial point would stop you from exercising your right to mental defecation.

Consider that two boxers get in the ring and try to beat each other's brains out for 12 rounds. And consider, as frequently happens, when the fighting is over they throw their arms around one another and show their respect for the person who was trying to punch them senseless.

The soldiers on both sides could easily understand and respect the other for fighting with valor and bravery.

Go defecate on the political whores, such as Lincoln et al, who prostituted every law in the land for political purposes.
