At the end of every seven years you must cancel debts. 2 This is how it is to be done: Every creditor shall cancel the loan he has made to his fellow Israelite. He shall not require payment from his fellow Israelite or brother, because the LORD's time for canceling debts has been proclaimed. 3 You may require payment from a foreigner, but you must cancel any debt your brother owes you. 4 However, there should be no poor among you, for in the land the LORD your God is giving you to possess as your inheritance, he will richly bless you, 5 if only you fully obey the LORD your God and are careful to follow all these commands I am giving you today. 6 For the LORD your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you.

Sure... let's try filing this down at the Bankruptcy Court and see what happens. Do the Federal Rules have a provision addressing exactly what the court is to treat as the land which God is giving the petitioner as his inheritance? That ruling over nations part is a bit tricky, too... if none are supposed to rule over a debtor, can he avail himself of the protection of the federal bankruptcy courts?

To paraphrase one of my favorite presidents, Andrew Jackson, the federal judiciary has made its decision. Now let them enforce it.

I'd ring it with state law enforcement and arrest every frelling fed who had the balls to attempt to remove it. Charge them with disturbing the peace, public lewdness, bestiality, and a host of other stuff. Tie up the feds in knots...plus issue a bench warrant for the arrest of the federal judge.

As a Chief Justice of a state supreme court, he should re-affirm the rule of law by complying with the order, even if he disagrees with it.

The law does not trump the constitution. It's the other way around. Congress has no right to pass law that requires you to adopt a specific religion. Separation of church and state is nowhere in the constitution, the Bill of rights or the declaration of independance. Nowhere. And regardless of what has been imposed upon this judge and the state of Alabama, if it is unconstitutional, I say as our forefathers said. 'The court has ruled, now let the court enforce it's judgement.'

My question was "do you have a problem" and evidently you do have one with persons donating to Christian ministries.

I like to play.

"So why doesn't he just move the monument to his courthouse and everyone will be happy."

LOL! A shell game with the 10 Commandments. I love it.

No, this is a time for a peaceful, nonviolent stand. The question is, will Americans conclude that the Federal Courts are now openly declaring war on our Constitutional rights? What would it mean if they conclude that? I hope no one starts shooting them. No point in making martyrs of the jerks. Of course, I said the same about Clinton, assuming all the evidence would bring him down. Since we failed to deal with Clinton properly, it will be difficult to tell the militias not to take matters into their own hands this time. And that could hurt us in the next election.

This wasn't a denial of his direct appeal/cert to the US Supreme Court.

Pending a final resolution, perhaps Alabama could put up an interim monument of Myron Thompson worshipping himself in a mirror.

How old were you when blows to the face became fair game? These boys weren't even in their teens yet.

Are you really taking up for this guy?

I belivee that Judge moore will be fined $500/day for not removing the Ten Commandments.
Who wants to start a Decalogue fund?

You better make that a really really big fund.

The proposed fines are $5000 (note the extra zero) per day for the first week, doubling every week until the legal maximum.

Make the checks payable to the Alabama treasury.

Moore's defiance of the law is giving the left much ammunition about 'certain' judges being unable to uphold the law against their own personal beliefs.

By that standard, there would never have been a constitution or a United states of America. This is liberal rewriting of the Constitution without benefit of a convention. And it cannot be allowed to stand. Sorry. Our forfathers are turning over in their graves. And if they were alive, they'd be arming themselves.

If Moore keep acting as backward as he has done, he'll be voted out of office fairly shortly I imagine.

Considering he won election campaigning as the Ten Commandments Judge, I highly doubt that.

By a margin of 54 to 46 percent, Circuit Judge Roy Moore was declared the winner in Alabama’s race for chief justice of the state Supreme Court. In 1993, the ACLU sued Moore for hanging a copy of the Ten Commandments in his courtroom and opening court sessions with prayer. Moore said if he won in November, he would take his Ten Commandments plaque with him to the state Supreme Court. Alabama voters also reaffirmed House sponsor of the Ten Commandments Defense Act, Rep. Bob Aderholt (R-Ala.), who held onto a very hotly contested seat.

Alabama I sure hope you stay the course - hang in there Roy. "Congress will make no law prohibiting the free exercise of relgion."

The Feds need to get out of State business.

I think your issue is a more personal one. You need to deal with your hatred of God before issuing a reasonable opinion on the law.

The issue is personal to me, but has nothing do do with a hatred of God. What it does have to do with is my personal experiences practicing law before a judge who wears his religion his robe.

I imagine if a Muslim judge had put a 5,300 lb Koran in the NJ Supreme Court bldg. no one would have listened to some whining in the first place to have it removed. Just my 2 cents.
