Anyone who wants to do business in California should care (I'm not in Indiana, btw).

Anyone who follows politics and wants to see the state GOP thrive, should care as well.

Education represents $45 billion, or 46% of California's budget this year, and the state faces a $13 billion shortfall next year. Do the math. Just to avoid adding to the $20 billion carryover deficit California currently has, a candidate who won't cut education will be forced to cut 25% of the state's non-education budget next year. Otherwise, he'll have to try and raise taxes.

Do you think Arnold is going to lay off thosuands of highway patrolmen? Shut state-funded down hospitals? Me neither.

No, he'll raise taxes, and he won't be breaking any promises when he does it, because he didn't make any.
