It seems possible that Arnold may drop out before the election. I wonder what he'd do if Bustedmental leads him in real polls.

If you look at the numbers, no one from the GOP will win as long as there are three (four if you count Uberoth) Republican candidates. Having Bustedmental win #2 will be a big blow to the Republican party. Makes me wish I had never supported the whole recall idea at all.

But now, it's too late to back out. Grayout must be forced out and Bustamente must not be allowed to win. What this will mean for the three GOP candidates is only my guess. I hope Simon and Uberoth will drop out.

Too bad Chris Cox isn't in this, but then again, he saw the danger ahead of time.

Tom McClintock is the one who gets my vote.

I actually heard on a local radio station a few days ago, a comment by David Drier, a California Congressman, and he said nothing would make him happier than if Tom McClintock and Bill Simon would drop out of the race, and they would then throw their support behind Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Such stupidy is rampant in our government.

I never heard of the Grutter v. Bollinger decision. How that's relevant to the Arnold v. Cruz decsision is beyond me.

Grutter v. Bollinger is the recent affirmative action case that held that diversity was a compelling state interest and therefore racial discrimination in the form of affirmative action was acceptable.

It was hard to miss it- people often talked about it hand in hand with Lawrence v. Texas, the sodomy case.

It's relevant because President Bush immediately issued a press release singing the praises of that decision. The point is that the President isn't always the best place to look for conservative opinions.

You don't live in California, so you don't know about that, but Bush (read: Rove) backed Richard Riordan, the former mayor of Los Angeles, total lefty nut, and good pal of Arnold's.

Riordan, like Arnold is increasing doing, treated the Republicans like dirt who needed him, but whom he did not need.

I'm sorry, but Bush's endorsement in California politics is a pretty good indication of how not to vote.

You know, the 20% of registered Republicans who voted but didn't vote for Simon comprise a total of 7% of the general electorate (assuming that it's 20% of 35%, which actually understates their number, because the GOP turnout is higher than registration).

Simon lost by 5%.

The RINOs, not to mention his bad campaigning, cost Simon the election.

You obviously don't have a clue how elections are won in CA since you have been ranting for weeks that the GOP can't win because there are more registered Rats in CA than Republicans...here is a clue...Elections in CA are won by the registered Independent voters! HELLOOOO?????? Elections in CA are decided by a turnout which tends to be larger by the GOP and the Independents who are more likely to vote and vote GOP than the RATS who are less likely to vote! The RINO Pete Wilson lost the base of conservative Independent voters and conservative Republicans when he RAISED TAXES during the recession in 1991.
