Hard evidence is hard to come by so far. But the hard evidence of watching Kennedys brains being blown out,,backwards, is there for anyone to see on the film. You can't change physics to fit a theory. The shot that did that damage came from the front.

In todays forensic climate, it would be childs play to prove it as well as just see it. Spatter analysis wasn't done then.

That's a great explanation. Thank you for it; however, it seems to me that your conclusion is at odds with your explanation. That is, Oswald was what I've always been told--barely competent. Hell, ALL marines are riflemen. He was at the lowest possible standard.

Good lord, you've never shot a rifle at a melon before, have you? I suggest you try it so you know what you're talking about.

I'll give you a hint. Little hole in, big hole out.

"Landslide" Johnson was evil enough, and power-hungry enough to do it, and had enough crooked South Texas connections to buy his previous elections (several times!) in that stae...

But did he dare try THIS particular act?

The ONLY other question you need ask is: Did HE (Johnson) think he could get away with it?

Well I always thought the Warren Commission's findings was full of crap and I would believe Johnson did some cover ups .. but that he was behind it??? .. I don't know about that

Yes, I've shot different rifles plenty of times, including in the Army. You're looking at the film and you don't see that bullet coming in from the front?

Lyndon Johnson makes Barry Switzer look classy. I've always been convinced of two things in the Kennedy assassination. The first is that there were multiple people involved. The second is that the trail has been so effectively obscured that we'll never know the truth. There was not only the coverup of evidence, there was also the planting of false evidence, often by people looking to make a buck. There are the genuine nutballs and the hucksters. The flakes like Oliver Stone further muddy the trail, with half-baked "half-fact/half-fiction" docudramas. So many people have thrown out so many theories, stories and have so many "pieces of evidence" that have been digitally enhanced, faked, etc., that no one knows what is real anymore.

About Johnson, though, in his autobiography, he stated that his primary concern with the Warren Commission was to bring the investigation to a swift conclusion that the American people would accept (It's been a while since I read it, but I remember being surprised that he listed this, rather than finding the truth as his primary purpose). I also found it curious that he appointed Gerald Ford, who, according to LBJ, had played too many football games without a helmet, to the Commission.

Was LBJ involved? I have no idea. I do believe that if he wasn't he either knew who was or didn't give a d*mn who was.

Unfortunately, I don't believe you have any idea what a firearm actually does.

Since you have shot a rifle before, take a rifle or pistol and some sort of melon to the gun range this weekend. The melon should have a hard exterior and soft interior.

After you're done, check the frame in the movie where the third shot hits the head. Compare what you've shot and then tell me on Monday which direction the shot came from.

You will also learn the effect called "Cratering" while you're there.

I think judge Roy Bean actually fined a dead man a twenty dollar gold piece, because it was on the body. That's one of the reasons I love being a Texan.

Cuba, Castro, the CIA, or some combination killed JFK, and Oswald fits somewhere, I just don't know where, because they all had the means, motive, and opportunity that everybody talks about.

Yeah, me too. My own experience tells me that portion of the conspiracy theory is wrong. We used to go out to the local gravel pit and blast water jugs. If you set a jug full of water on a flat surface and blast it with a high-powered rifle, due to the high-pressure jet out the back the jug will fall FORWARD, not backward. That is why Kennedy's head jerked backward, because of the high-pressure blast out the front of his head.

I've never seen convincing evidence that leads me to believe that Oswald was incapable of making those shots. It's the only thing about the Kennedy Assassination that I'm sure about.

Funny, I've never seen convincing evidence that leads me to believe that Oswald was capable of making those shots.
The 'magic bullet' did not exist, except in the minds of the Warren commission.

It's the ~only~ thing about the Kennedy Assassination that I'm sure about.

Been there and done that, have splattered a few melons in my time, though I'm not an expert admittedly.

There are several theories, some say it very well could have been from the back based on pressure in the brain forcing him backwards after the shot, and others who claim part of the skull that was shattered was from the back, which would indicate a frontal hit. Looking at the film, I always thought it was from the front, and so do a lot of other people, many of them experts in the field.

Correct. And the debris from the bullet carries forward. It becomes a situation of a small entrance hole with a large exit hole. Anyone who has ever shot any object other than paper knows this. There is also the crater effect. Look at a piece of glass that was shot by a BB or any other gun. A BB is easier because it's so common. The glass has a small entrance hole and the other side of the glass can be as large as an inch.

The conspiracy theorist never explain where their bullet landed. Oswald's third shot broke in two with one half breaking the windshield and the other bending the chrome near the mirror. Both pieces landed on and near the front seat IIRC.
