Knew you would like that Weinie Racing site

It's only the cutest thing I've ever seen! Thanks for sharing. You might visit and see how Weinie signed the guest book.

I will go by and check that out over the weekend! Too funny! Right now I'm shoveling out my email boxes.

How is your nose Weinie?

Since you are a birder (is that what bird lovers are called?) you might be interested to know that we have discovered a Rufous Hummingbird has claimed one of our feeders. I did some research and found that they are not seen much in our area. It is possible that it could be an Allen's, they are difficult to tell apart in the field, but the aggressive way he is protecting that feeder is more like the Rufous' behavior.

I love watching and learning about birds. We had probably six or eight hummingbirds feeding off of the feeder out front. They would fight over it a bit, but each of them could eventually get to it. But since this new guy on the block showed up, not a one of them can get even close. His coloring and behavior is completely different from the others. Fortunately we have two feeders on the other side of the house and he can't guard them all at the same time.

This is a Rufous that I found in my internet search. It is the most beautiful copper color.

This is the sound a Rufous Hummingbird make bird defending his territory.

I don't think I qualify as a birder. I am more of an extremist? Maybe? Anything I like, I like to learn as much about it as possible. Hubby is the same way. And we like the kids following our lead. Just call us Oddities :) Lovingly of course :)

Hmmmmmmm.....I'll have to make a point of listening and see if that's what my Rufous sounds like.

LOL! Okay. You'd fit in well in our family, we have a bunch of "oddities" in our tree. ;-)

Good night Calpernia, time to call it a day.
