Israel envoy: Truck used in UN bombing came from Syria
The Jerusalem Post ^ | Aug. 22, 2003 | The Associated Press

United Nations: Israel's ambassador to the United Nations said Thursday that intelligence reports show the truck used in the deadly bombing of U.N. headquarters in Baghdad came from Syria.

However, Ambassador Dan Gillerman said he had no evidence linking Syria directly to Tuesday's attack, which killed more than 20 people and injured more than 100.

"All I'm saying is that intelligence reports and reports we've seen and heard in the media indicate the truck that blew up the compound in Baghdad came from Damascus," the Syrian capital, Gillerman told reporters.

Syria's deputy U.N. ambassador said there was no information that the truck came from his country. "It's an absolutely crazy allegation," said Fayssal Mekdad, whose country holds the Security Council presidency.

Gillerman's statement was the first identifying the origin of the Soviet-made truck that exploded outside the Canal Hotel where the U.N. offices were located.

The ambassador was asked if there was a connection between the attack on U.N. headquarters Tuesday and a suicide bombing in Jerusalem hours later that killed 20 Israelis, including six children.

"I don't know they were coordinated," Gillerman said. "But what I do feel very strongly is that they are both part of a concerted, global terrorist network and terrorist war which is being waged against the whole free world."

Don't tell Bush this. He's not listening. He let's Powell say how Syria is a "useful partner" for peace. Meanwhile we all know the WMDs which were not destroyed are sitting in Syria.

"...Meanwhile we all know the WMDs which were not destroyed are sitting in Syria..."

We even know exactly where they're buried in Syria! All the wog-Nations really are in a terrible fix. They're facing the probability of a 'Democratic Nation of Iraq', backed by the US and UK, while Iran is reaching pressure-cooker blast-point from within.

Israel now has the right to kill Arafat-the-pig, and deal only with the new guy, or even throw-out all the phony 'Palestinians' and take the land.

Interesting times indeed!.........FRegards

The Syrians and Egyptians are behind this.

Now who allows this to continue?

Below are truly today's authors of Tomorrows' Terrorism

Bush is just 'speaking softly' and waiting to use his big stick. Don't worry, Syria is on the list. Got to stock up on cruise Missiles before make it obvious what are intentions are. The WOT is far from over.

Nothing found yet, Rus, except bits and pieces. We know Soddom used gas on his own people and Iranians, and that they were proficient at eluding the UN inspectors.

It's the 'Israeli' satellite photos that I was refering to. Lotsa interesting cannon shells there under sand now.

An apparently new Russian cement truck with engine and chassis numbers that are traceable. Should be interesting to find out who bought it last........FRegards

Yeah right:). Apparently I will not beleive Israeli envoy anymore. Especially after this:

"...
Syrian U.N. envoy Fayssal Mekdad promptly denied the charge as ''a big lie'' and Israeli Ambassador Dan Gillerman's own aides acknowledged the statement was based in part on an interview with a retired U.S. military analyst on Fox Television.
Gillerman startled some U.N. diplomats with his allegation, delivered outside the Security Council chamber, that Syria was ''the country from which most probably the truck that blew up the compound in Baghdad came.''
Asked if Syria was directly tied to Tuesday's attack, which killed at least 24 people and injured at least 100, Gillerman said there was insufficient evidence to suggest that.
''All I am saying is that intelligence reports and reports we've seen and heard also in the media indicate the truck that blew up the compound in Baghdad actually came from Damascus,'' he said.
Aides, speaking on condition of anonymity, later said Gillerman was not referring to Israeli intelligence reports but reports from other countries as well as media reports, including the Fox Television interview.
Nor did Gillerman mean to imply there was any evidence that the explosives used in the blast had been prepared or loaded on the truck in Syria, the aides said. ..."

Satatement was based on words of FOX TV media analyst. What is this? Provocation?

I understand that Israel hates Syria very much but I think so stinking methods of propaganda doesn't serve cause.

Well, Rus, I don't think Gillermans' words were in any way suggesting that Israel was behind the allegations that the truck probably came from Syria.

Basically, it's just 'connect-the-dots' as to where the truck came from. Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the other little players are terrified of Iraq becoming some form of Representative Democracy in their midst.

The battleground is Iraq. The homicidal-Islamaniacs will try their evil best in other Countries, including America, but the Yanks and Brits are already busy reforming Iraq, and we can't be stopped! Interesting times...........FRegards
