Seriously, I believe that next to the gift of eternal life, Mrs. Hat-Trick is the greatest blessing God has given me. I had very little to do with it, because I surely would have messed it up. After much prayer with supplication and thanksgiving, I knew I'd better ask her to marry me. Thankfully, He told her to say yes.

I agree with much of this, and have seen it as well. I'm a firm believer in "you get what you settle for", and most of these women settle for far less than they deserve. The sluts have made it harder for the good girls. Conversely, most men settle for far less than they deserve, and being men - not gifted with much patience, jump into relationships that they shouldn't for the sake of sex or having someone to sleep with. Don't get me wrong - sex is incredibly important, but there has to be something more for any marriage to survive, let alone flourish.

I am not trying to bad mouth women, I am making observations that you would be hard pressed to deny. Second, many women freepers should take lessesons from what we guys are saying. Whether you like what we say or not. Many women are unhappy and unfulfilled because of their own attitudes and behaviors, not because of the men, the world, or fate. When many women begin to wise up to the fact that they are acting in a way that will undeniably get them hurt, maybe things will start to change.

Ha! - I do deny! I also like men who don't lecture me when they don't even know me! If you knew me better, you would know that right now I am one of the happiest people I know, and you would know that I have a very good instincts for spotting nice people.

I responded to a general tone on the thread, not you in particular... THE least attractive trait in anyone is bitterness ... If bitterness is what comes to the surface first when you think of women and post about them, it will always show. These threads depress me. Because of the anger, condescension and bitterness that surfaces all aimed at 'women'. Jeeesh. I have known a lot of men and women in my life, and you know, every single one of them is different. Some had similar strengths and weaknesses, some had different ones, some had more of one than the other.

Perhaps the mistake people make is treating people like you already know everything about them and have them all figured out.

Bitter people repel the type of people that could possibly improve their outlook, and attract what?

These patterns of behavior often transcend are ability to truly think about our actions before we take them. Many men will certainly tell you this about being with women for only sex without looking at other factors.

I agree with Hair of the Dog that this thread as bit of 'Woman Bashing' in it...

The bizarre thing, is this is word for word EXACTLY like the man bashing thread happening on a mostly female board ;) I know of....

I am cracking up because both sides are saying the same things (just about)....Makes ya wonder.

Some folks so bitter their spit could melt lead. People have expectations that the others didn't know about. And it seems both thought that the relationship would just 'work' without work.

I don't have all the answers, but I do know that the only person that can make me happy is me.

Women have so much more power for good than they realize ...
Imagine if no woman ever again put up with bad behavior in their man (or brother or son)...there'd be some massive changes!

It really is a deficiency of both genders. Lots of people (myself included) go after bad people for them. It's just human nature sometimes.
