I've heard that a few years ago someone was harvesting huge trees from the bottom of Lake Washington near Seattle. The state found out and stopped this unusual logging operation.There's a company in Canada that makes flooring out of timber harvested from the bottoms of rivers where they sank a hundred years ago or so when they were being floated down the rivers after having been felled. The wood has some interesting colors after having been under water for so long.
