I just hope all the young parents out there who are worried about college educations for their kids read about these job losses.Why bother with an education,just help your kids learn a good trade.

Think of the tuition money that will be saved.

My kids are in college in health care fields. I can't think of any way possible we can send surgery offshore, can you?

I hear you. I am "white collar" (insurance), and many jobs in my industry have been sent to India. At least I can do carpentry and renovations, which is what I did for years before I got married and "settled down." If my position goes to India (or China, or the Phillipines, or wherever), I can fall back on that, at least for a while, until my body gives out from old age.

I have a BS degree from NC State in Textile management. Can't do that anymore. Now I'm a programmer, pretty soon I wont be able to do that. Now I'm thinking of learning to weld. Maybe I should have done what my dad did all along but they insisted I go to college just like all my other friends did.
