Thank you for posting President Lehman's response.

(The invitation to Ms. McKinney was extended by a search committee of senior faculty members that was chaired by an academic dean).

His response should has clarified for us just how leftist the Cornell faculty is. Again, I doubt very much that they would have invited anyone on the right of the political spectrum. Their grandstanding for freedom of speach and expanded horizons is so hypocritical when they provide Cornell's students with only one sided arguments.

Far above Cayuga's waters
Rises such a smell;
It is not Cayuga's waters,
It is just Cornell.

High above Cayuga's waters
There's an awful smell;
Some say it's the Tompkins Landfill,
I think it's Cornell.

Colgate, rock on!

If that's correct free speech is working its magic, isn't it?

Oh, yeah. Hire only liberal professors and let 'em say whatever they want. Free speech! The University shuts down conservative thought before it even gets to campus. Of course, some students get in to spoil the party, but the point is about profs.

Cornell is a state-funded school, by the way . . .

You gotta start somewhere. If it has to start with the students...so be it. Don't denigrate the importance of Sabia's efforts.

No! It's the reprise of 54-40 or fight.

Of course, we didn't fight, and it's not 54'40. :) May I suggest a compromise involving Niagara Falls, the Cornell faculty and admin, the Sabres, Canadiens, and Senators, Shania Twain and the RCMP? Also add me in there, so Shania has someone to do. -thing. Something to do.
