That life comment is very dishonest. Schwarzenegger cannot affect abortion policy. Abortion policy will only be effected by new cases brought before the Supreme Court. If it were otherwise no abortions would be taking place in Texas or Florida

That is not true and frankly I don't appreciate the ad hominem.

Let me list just a few of the examples of bills affecting human life, since we do have Amendment X in the US Constitution:

Parental Notification
Parental Consent
Regulation of Abortion Clinics
"Women's Right to Know" legislation, on abortion
Partial birth abortion ban
Ban of other late term abortions
Legislation that interferes with the freedom of pro-life activists
Fetal tissue legislation
Euthanasia legislation
Tax funding of abortion
Adoption policies
Deadbeat dad policies
Father's rights policies

A part of our problem is that *our own conservatives* tend to see much too much as federal and judicial issues, instead of getting after legislatures and governors to do what they were elected to do.

"Meanwhile, 'loyal Republicans' help them by pushing away or refusing to support anyone who fails to meet their absolute purity test. "

But 'loyal Democrats' get success thru party purity. Know any pro-life Democrats candidates?

Please link me to your criticism of that graphic before I morphed it from a slam of Schwarzenegger, to one more favorable to him. Thanks in advance.

Arnold said education spending would NOT be cut. What you are talking about is legal under prop 98, but it would break Arnold's promise.

Let's say you're right.  In at least some of these instances you are.  What good is it if McClintock's numbers never escalate to the place he can get elected.

Whether I agree in all things with Schwarzenegger or not, I disagree in every instance with Davis and Bustamante.  I'll vote for Schwarzenegger rather and see Davis or Bustamante hold the office.

While I agree that it would be better if the things you mentioned were addressed, if McClintock can't get elected they won't be no matter what.

No problem. This is an interesting comment from people who still think Schwarzenegger is planning to raise taxes.

California's political history and traditions were laid down nearly ninety years ago by the progressive reforms of Hiram Johnson. The principles were clear: bipartisanship was cherished, progress was prized over politics and the will of the people was paramount. It was upon these principles that our state was built. California became a beacon for the rest of the nation and the world.

But today we are in a different place. There is an enormous disconnect between the people of California and the politicians of California. We the people, are doing our job--working hard, paying our taxes and raising our families. They, the politicians are not doing their job. They fiddle, they fumble, and they fail.

It is time to return California to the people.

Liberal Republican governors for years and years in Illinois, getting the support of conservatives (and therefore not having to pay attention to us) =

...a sick, wounded, and bleeding Illinois + a new liberal governor "honest" enough to call himself a Democrat

For the brief time I watched cable news, Fox, CNN and MSNBC all kept harping on this poll showing Bstamante in the lead. And they seemed to be happy about it. None when I watched it mentioned that it was a local poll.

As an Illinoisan, I can relate that as long as conservatives are willing to support RINO's, we'll keep getting them -- and it's just a slightly slower trip to "hell" than the Democrats offer.

Most conservative Republican's, what I call the the loyal rank and file crowd, want to rid the GOP of people like Olympia Snowe, Arlen Spector, Susan Collins and Lincoln Chaffey. Therefore, it makes no sense whatsoever, for Republican's to mount such a serious effort to elect Arnold Schwarzenegger the next governor of California.

Seems to me you're the odd man out. I believe 'odd' is the perfect adjective, too!
