Wesley Clark Admits He Lied
Fox News | August 26, 2003 | Fox News

Posted on 08/26/2003 4:55:03 PM PDT by Peach

Wesley Clark admitted the White House DID NOT pressure him to lie that Iraq was behind 9/11. He now admits it was a Canadian think tank.

Previously, Clark had insisted that the White House called him, as the towers were falling, to pressure Clark to go national that Iraq was behind the attack. He has backed off that claim and admits he was "confused".

Most excellent #93 analysis. Lou Dobbs of CNN refused to have Clark on his show after it became apparent Clark was thinking of running for president. I think Dobbs wrote an editorial about it and being a senior staff member at CNN carried a little weight over there and they finally made a good decision.

Also, the fact that they were providing free air time to a presidential wanna-be meant CNN was liable for a lawsuit should any of the other empty suits (read Rats) decide to file for the same kind of free airtime.

Not only that-- Clark wasn't even the dissenting General that got the most coverage. Gen. Barry Mcaffery was the guy who made news for his criticisms of the war plan, not Nobody Clark. He needs to understand that he doesn't count.
I didn't even hear about his dissenting comments until now. No one watched CNN during the War.

Hard to tell who is the more nuts, Dean or Clark. They make a great pair, don't they!

Speaking of Perot....his running mate Adm. Stockdale ("Who am I and What am I doing here") was far more qualified in the intergrity dept. than that LIAR Clark.

I remember that! The next day I sent a letter to Howard Stern mentioning that Admiral Stockdale looked just like Captain Pike from the Star Trek episode of "The Glass Menagerie." Do you remember Captain Pike? He actually did look like Stockdale and he was stuck in some metal box and couldn't communicate at all except for a couple of lights going red or green indicating "yes" and "no." Anyway, Howard read that commentary comparing Stockdale to Captain Pike on the air.

p.s. I have over 200 copies of letters that I sent to Howard Stern from 1991 to 1996. Do you think I should upload them up to the Net for all to read?

You mean it's not a 'piece...???

No kidding. Are there NO investigative people on the right?? This is a big story...short but big since he's all but announced his run.

Just look at everyone that are friends of the Clintons. They have ALL been disgraced or shown to be liars OR they are 6 feet under.

Well he was norn that way, he was supposedly raised southern Baptist (in Ark.) and then he converted to Catholicism. I'd say that bit of bio info puts his political punditry in the proper perspective-- he is all over the bleeping map. I bet the Pres debates would be even more schizophrenic than Gore v Bush. This guy is cuckoo.

"Clark was born an orthodox Jew"

Huh? that's worth a web search:

Link

"...That's the big thing this season, Jewish ancestry," says Clark, who confirms that his late father was Jewish. His father died when Wesley was 4, he was raised as a Southern Baptist and later converted to Catholicism. If Clark does run for president, he will join a group of announced candidates that includes Howard Dean (whose wife is Jewish), John Kerry (whose grandparents were Jewish) and Joe Lieberman (who is Jewish).

Well, I thought Kerry looked as Irish as they come.

Ha! That was a good comparison.

Trying to imagine Cheney debating with any of the possible VP candidates...Graham would have to consult his notebooks, and Clark would simply look like Wesley the Weasel.

Yeah - I shouldn't be surprised he lied and this isn't really news! It was just too fun to pass up.

I can see it in my mind's eye. People shouting, them on the floor flailing at each other and swearing, and the rest of the pack fleeing like the cowards they are. (Except maybe Joe Lieberman, who would stand there and wring his hands and whine).

I can't quite believe this story has passed reporters on the right by, either. Asleep at the wheel. I'm e-mailing Rush in between threads here and hoping he does a segment on this story tomorrow.

I think the pure audacity of the lie, about the White House and an event as momentus as 9/11, is just beyond the pale.
