These reports are broadcast without irony by the CBC from Toronto, a city itself known for its shootings and power blackouts. So let us take a break from the "experts" in the media and hear from ordinary Iraqis . . .

Thanks for the post. I e-mailed a copy of the article from the Calgary paper to a conservative friend. I've certainly noticed the incessant trash-talking by television journopolemicists myself.

According to those guys, the sack of Carthage in 143 B.C. was another Roman foreign-policy disaster, laden with calamitous consequences according to the Law of Unintended Consequences. Maureen Dowd would have scratched Aemilianus's eyes out.
