some of his contemporaries from the group say he was moderate, not militant. "His involvement in MEChA was not in a leadership position. His involvement was in being a member and doing what he could.
He was like the Klansman who brought the rope, he didn't actually lynch anyone himself.

Brian Kilmead (sp?) on Fox & Friends this morning was outraged and humored by the "moderate" comment. He was suggesting that anyone who tried to say "I was a moderate member of the Klan" would never get away with it.
