One of the confiscated movies, Forced Entry, features three graphic scenes of women being spat upon, raped and murdered.

Something you may have overlooked (ignored) in crafting your response.

If they raped and murdered women, then charge them with rape and murder. If they made a MOVIE with scenes like that in them, then the feds are wasting time and money. Decentcy laws are supposed to judged on community standards...that's state and local, not federal.

A lot of Hollywood movies also show spittings-upon, rapes, and murders. Hollywood might hide the naughty parts, and there might be a left-wing "plot," but if you wish to see such acts banned outright on film, your net will catch a lot more fish than you intend. And that is a First Amendment issue.

So, how many scenes of women (and men) being brutally assaulted and murdered were there in candidate-for-governor Arnold's seminal work, "The Terminator," or the critically acclaimed film "Pulp Fiction," or in "Natural Born Killers," or any number of other Hollywood films?

Sounds like "The Sopranos" and Stephen King might be next......

A Clockwork Orange features scenes of people being spit on, raped, and murdered. It was even rated X (until the rape scene was edited down).

I think that American Psycho is an even more disgusting film and it was only rated R.

Both were based on books. Does thing protect them from any criticism?

Does "bestseller" status protect one work but not another? How about the budget of the production?

How about the size of the store that is selling the video (Best Buy, Fry's, Amazon.com, and Borders Books are all selling some films that have X rated action and even combined sex with hard violence).

Again, this is not to defend the practice but the shelves are going to need a lot of cleaning and a universal application of the law.

Even in the 1990s, Barnes and Noble and other stores successfully defended themselves against "child porn" charges for selling photography books with photos of nude children and teens.

Oh, I took that into account, all right. It's an old propaganda trick - drag the most extreme example of (insert target of crusade HERE) and get the Sheeple riled up.

Next thing you know, some Congresscritter trots out their latest bill mandating that all home computers grant administrator's access to (insert unconstitutional Federal police entity HERE) for sneek-and-peek searches by the newly-created Department of (insert Federally-desired end-result HERE).

Works every time!
