The two couples may be very much in love, but when the grooms converted to Islam I doubt that they knew very much what they were doing. There is a book called "The Two Faces of Islam," and that about says it all.
Conversely, if the brides ever arrive in the Western world they may find that the Christian world is quite different from the Muslim world, and decide to change their faith. We can only wish them well.

Hey, if the marriages don't work out, aren't the G.I.s who converted to Islam allowed to "whack" the wifes or have a family member do it?

Geraldine Brooks' "Nine Parts of Desire," a book about women in Islam. I thought women in Islam had their, um, sexual enjoyment ruined by an "operation" when they turned 12?? Is this only in Saudi?
