They need supply lines, without such, they would not last long in battle.

They could not run and hide, as once again they need supply lines. they would be like a pearl harbour type senario. Sitting ducks.

Hutchison Whampoa control both end of the Panama Canal.

They are the larges container company in the world.

They have Strong Ties with the PLA (People Liberation Army).

They also control the docks, harbour and airport in Freeport the Bahamas (and has such have a stong influence on the government as they employ almost half the work force).

Freeport is only 56kms from Miami

The also have a container port in LA

When Li Ka Shing or his number two call a meeting, the harbour masters and the big US container companies jump to it and all go to Freeport, as money is the name of the game and Hutchison with its containers moving freely around the world have billions to spend.

They also control Felixstowe in the UK

We are blind by the moeny to be made, as we were withthe Saudi oil revenues and cheap gas at the pumps and we all remember the blowback on that one.

Let us not forget and let us ensure it will not happen again.

Hutchison Whampao is a British Company, started as a "Hong" trading house in HK 100 years ago by British traders

Li Kah Shing only managed to gain control of the Board about 10-12 years ago---he probably owns about 20+ % of the equity

The Managing Director and a lot of senior management are British and European---it is likely to be well inflitrated by British and EU intelligence

Was a British Company.

The company is divied into two parts

Hutchison Whampoa and Chung Kong Holdings.

Both controlled by Li Ka Shing.

Yes there are lots of Brits working for them, however I am unable to say if they are interlligence people.

All decsions in Hutchison are made by a very very small group of people, even though it is a conglomorate.

So what does China do about incoming ICBMs? Supply lines are moot in a 60-minute war. Turn the board around and take a look at the position from China's point of view. It's really not at all a promising position.

China is also pondering what will happen when Japan and Taiwan get sick of Bush's foot-dragging and decide to take matters into their own hands. They can afford to buy nukes a lot faster than China can build them. Also, China knows that Russia will sell them with little hesitation.

I’m glad that your son returned safely and hope that he had a nice trip. Yes, Hong Kong was hit by another typhoon, a major one indeed. For safety, I went out to close the awning, unaware of a bee hive built under the winding mechanism. While winding, the bee hive broke and a swamp of angry bees attacked me. Got 3 very nasty stings. I ran inside the house and some followed me and I had to kill them with insecticide. The pain was excruciating and I started to feel dizzy. I called an ambulance and was being rushed to E.R. Took some shots, did some blood test, and was put under observation for 24 hours. I am discharged and resting at home now. Still under medication, though. What luck?

I'm so glad you are alright!! Sounds like our Texas Killer Bees, LOL! Seriously, that was a scary thing for you. I got stung on the nose by a wasp this summer and it swelled and hurt ALL that day!

I think my son is stranded in Taiwan till they resume flights. I heard they had to cancel 150 flights!! We are just waiting it out till he gets to San Antonio and calls us.

This is certainly your 'typhoon' season, isn't it? Take care.
