It may sound hard to believe, but I found the full-size Glock 21 .45ACP to have more felt recoil than the compact Glock 30 .45ACP. Might have something to do with the coaxial slide spring in the 30, perhaps more of the recoil force goes into compressing the spring and less into your hand. I found it very surprising the first time I fired the two.

I bought the latter, and that's my preferred carry piece.

I believe you are correct, as your big glock has a longer barrel and accelerates the projectile to a higher velocity resulting in more recoil (MxV2). I have a couple Glock 10's (as I have two hands) and never have shot better with any other handgun.

I own two Glocks, one is a M27 .40 and the other is a M 30 in 45ACP. Both have tritium sights. I LOVED my M30 until I got the M27. Around town, I usually carry the M27 stoked up with MagSafes...everywhere along with one or two sp mags; depending on where my wanderings may take the wife and I. Some of her fav fabric shops are in the heart of "Indian Country," lol.

Since the proper grip on the Glock puts the web of the hand so close to the axis of the bore, it seems to indeed, reduce the amount of "felt recoil."

However just as I have finished the latest Tom Clancy tome: "The Teeth of the Tiger" I am convinced that something similar is going to happen on American soil in real life. Now, I'm looking into a ParaOrdnance 45 LDA...either the C6, or the C7 or the Tac-4 or possibly a combo of the C7 and Tac-4. Serious guns for serious times...ya know? I've been speaking to local cops and prosecutors and the new trend seems to be, the weapons used in self defense often themselves present a case of "no true bill" if they're DAO instead of "cocked and locked" in a 45. Glocks and their unique action seem to be holding up their end as well...and as a "+" they're "dishwasher safe." LOL But, I'll either sell the M30 or trade it for a ParaOrdnance. Gun show is next weekend. I'll let everybody know.
