Maybe he was trying to get rid of her 13 years ago? And maybe that's why he's trying to get rid of her now. Don't want to risk the chance of her possibly speaking again and revealing what he did to her.
And, he's planning on cremating her body as soon as she dies. Course, he's such an angel I'm sure it's not to hide any evidence. (/sarcasm)
