Of course it's not! It's facts. Pure and simple.
The analysis of history may be an argument, but not history itself.
You should distinguish between historic facts and myths and fantasy. Popular understanding is frequently of the myths, not the facts. Also remember that the victors write the history so history itself is often skewed to an official version which paints certain actions noble or great and others in a darker light. So called revisionist historians try to set the record straight. That is a true public service. Sorry if it doesn't make you feel good.
