They attach some great value to whiteness which I never understood. I know they do --- I see that everyday. And that's one reason they really dislike white Americans ---except they like assimilated brown and Black Americans even less. It has something to do with being racially superior to anyone browner than themselves but resentful and having some kind of inferiority complex against those who are whiter ---especially if they happen to be non-Spanish speaking. The commonest words around here have to do with race and skin color "guero", "moronito", "gringo" and the rest.

The people that many of these Mexican viva la raza are so 'inferiorized' about are not people anyone would want to be around. Have you ever been around a racist piece of white trash? That is something to aspire to? Really I've never wanted to be anyone but myself. The only people that are looking like jackasses are the folks in Mecha who think they're better than anyone else based upon their warped views. Bustaman would be a very sad choice for governor.

(Why can't Cruz find his American birth certificate?)
To: jagrmeister
He has yet to give any kind of evidence that he is even an American citizen. There are no birth records and that alone should disqualify him from running.

Seeking information from former or active MECha members regarding California Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante and his past ties to MECha in the 1970s in the area of Fresno State University.
Looking specifically for audio tape, forgotten photographs, notes from meetings, debates, names of former associates within the organization, Bustamante's duties, activities etc within the organization.
Information will be used to cross reference existing information to determine inaccuracies or to help substantiate existing information.
Feel free email me through Free Republic.

The La Raza folks are racist and anglophobic to the core. I remember their vitriol and hatred from as far back as the 1970s, when I left California for good. They are putrid scum.

"If you check my recent posts, you will find that I am already familiar with MEChA and am no friend of the organization. I don't think most illegal aliens even know it exists. It's a movement of college students in America, not of illegals."
Oh, they know it exists. MEChA and the various La Raza groups are the biggest advocates of the illegal invasion.
To: ought-six
The are advocates, yes, but that doesn't necessarily mean they authentically speak for the people who enter our country illegally. It just means that they advocate for what they perceive as those people's interests.
If you read some of the MEChA material, you will notice them saying that they should be better students of the barrio and respond better to the interests of those less fortunate than the students. The implication is that this is often not done.
Just because both illegals and pressure groups exist does not mean the illegals are aware of the pressure groups or even support them. Next time you see an illegal, ask him if he's ever heard of MEChA.
I'll be curious to hear his response.

agree... I'm not fooled by their verbal diarrhea masked as 'self determination and cultural pride'

I guess you're unfamiliar with MEChA's guiding principle: For the Race (hispanics), everything. For those not of the race (non-hispanics), nothing. I guess you've also not heard of MEChA's proclamation that North America is a BRONZE continent, and that only folks of a bronze hue are welcome. Yep, sure sounds like just a student organization that seeks to help out with tuition. And, by the way, I used to work with some illegals back in the late 1960s in California. And they knew about MEChA, even back then, when it was still in its relative infancy. And they thought it was the greatest thing.
To: ought-six
Of course I am aware of the proclamation and guiding principle. My question was about whether it actually filters down to the masses. Very often socialist bumph doesn't play well down there.
However, judging by your data point, this time it does. Too bad.
Thanks for setting me straight on that issue.
