I tend to agree that that is what started it, but that's not the whole picture. I see people on one hand bragging that they sold the house they bought 25 years ago for 300,000, a house they paid only 25,000 for. And then lamenting that their grandkids are struggling to make ends meet and buy a house.
The wheels were set in place for an economy that is based on inflation. Deflation, or stagflation would destroy the economy. And if I was a 25 year old struggling, yeah, I'd be a little steamed when I see Mr. Social Security passing me on the freeway in his 200,000 dollar house-on-wheels.

It's the generation between the WW2 Vets and the Boomers that are currently demanding drug bennies from the rest of us.
I'm a boomer, and rip up anything that comes from AARP. I refuse to rob my son and (eventual, hopefully) grandkids.
