CNN's prime time anchors, Paula Zahn and Anderson Cooper, will officially launch their new shows Sept. 8. Zahn's show, a straight news program, will be called "Paula Zahn Now" and Cooper's show, which will have a faster-paced style, will be called "Anderson Cooper 360."
A cast of contributors for Zahn's show will be announced later this week.
Cooper's show, which targets younger viewers, will feature several regular segments devoted to media, including "Inside the Box," which will analyze TV news coverage, "Fresh Print," a look at the hot topics in current magazines, and "Weekender," which will preview upcoming movies and entertainment events.
After being named CNN's president early this year, Jim Walton has scrapped soft news and opinion shows and focused on harder-news programs. During the war, he canceled the 9 p.m. show, "Connie Chung Tonight," which was often criticized for its tabloid style.
Walton put Zahn and Cooper in their current time slots months ago, but the shows only now are officially launching.

she was doing okay on FOX. She made a major mistake when she jumped to CNN. She is pretty though.

Joining CNN now is sort of like signing on to the Titanic just before it sailed.

One day I will have to post pics of Anderson Cooper from my highschool yearbook, when at a high school talent show he stood up during a stand up comedy bit, wearing black tights with a long baloon and two tennis balls stuffed down the tights.

Cooper's show, which targets younger viewers...Not at 7 pm, it won't, no matter how good it turns out to be ... unless CNN's idea of "younger viewers" is to grab people in their early 50s instead of their late 50s, which is probably about as good as they'll ever be able to manage regardless of what stunts they try. CNN has a 25-year tradition of being the Ambien Network, and hiring all the World News Now alumni in the world won't change that unless they're allowed to produce shows completely outside of the CNN newsroom culture, which is something that will never occur.
Paula's show, needless to say, is doomed, because it's hosted by Paula Zahn. There's no getting around that.

she was doing okay on FOX. She made a major mistake when she jumped to CNN.The key word in that sentence is "okay." After she left Fox, their ratings went up in the 10 pm time slot almost immediately, even before they hired Greta to replace her.
She is pretty though.
Not in person without the makeup, she ain't. Well, she's all right for her age, I guess, but she sure wouldn't make you turn your head to look twice if you found yourself standing next to her in a supermarket aisle.

Allow me to clarify that: Hiring WNN alumni from no later than the Mark & Asha era (save for Anderson himself, who kinda overlapped with Mark anyway). Anyone working for WNN either on-air or behind the camera since 1998 at the latest are about as good at network news as a bunch of chimpanzees banging away randomly on typewriters.
