It's been a bad mosquito season up here in New England, thanks to our cool, rainy summer. There are clouds of them out there even now. Last weekend, my son and I saw a canoe half full of rainwater. In that canoe had to be hundreds of thousands of mosquito larvae. They are tiny worm-like things that constantly wiggle in the water. We tipped the canoe over but I doubt that made much of a difference. They are everywhere and my legs are covered with bites.

Bring back DDT. It was a kitchen scientist who got it banned in the hysteria of the sixties.
Now children are dying of West Nile here.
We ridded ourselves of mosquitoes where we lived once, but the enviromentalist and their lobbies won in the fight for survival of humans. They would rather animals to live than babies.

But......what do these things eat when they run out of skeeter larve......?
