'DC 9/11' is too pro-Bush, and too late [Boston Globe lib whines & cries]
The Boston Globe ^ | September 6, 2003 | Mark Jurkowitz

If "DC 9/11: Time of Crisis" could ever be cut down to a bite-size portion, it would make the best presidential reelection ad ever conceived, one that would force every Democratic challenger to abandon the chase for the White House.

"True enough. I also remember Congressional 'Rats accusing him of cowardice for closing down domestic air travel while he took command of the situation aboard Air Force One."

As he is supposed to do, as per nuclear protocol, last updated in something like 1996 (don't quote me on that, I don't remember the exact year but it was around there) which leads me to remember Tommy (lack of) "Intelligence Committee" Daschle screaming he never heard of such a SHHHHHAAAADOOOOOOOOOOWWWW GOOOOOVEEEERRRNMEEEENT (re: muclear protocol)

The Dems and their charges of cowardice (they apparently couldn't recall a protocol in effect for 50 years either) and Hillary with "What did Bush know and When did he Know it"...

They tried to turn a national horror into a chep, tawdry political platform.

Welcome back buddy....!

Welcome back,
Your dreams were your ticket out.

Welcome back,
To that same old place that you laughed about.

Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they're turned around.

Who'd have thought they'd lead ya (Who'd have thought they'd lead ya)
Here where we need ya (Here where we need ya)

Yeah we tease him a lot cause we've got him on the spot,
welcome back,
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.

Memo to the squishy minds at the Globe: Your favoritie Senator (besides a drunken murderer), is part Eva Perone, part Jezebel Lady McBeth, with a little Rosie O'Donnel tossed in for good measure.

We dropped Showtime last month because there was never anything worth watching, now they have this movie. I hope that it will be available for viewing elsewhere.

Thanks for the report.

Maybe those of us who can't stomach Sheen et al can rely on you for occasional updates....like when the ratings get so bad they drop the whole damn show.

I LOVE him in that flight suit. In fact, I've got sort of a collection.

Me too - in fact, it's one of my Webshots screen savers on my 'puter at work. Amazing how much attention it gets.

Yes, I do too - in fact it was Jennings who actually wondered outloud it the President was a coward for staying in the air and not returning to D.C.

Of course, Jennings never apologized after it was acknowledged that the Secret Service and Cheney kept the President out of D.C. for the President's safety.

But .. the statement that got me was this author thinks 9/11 was not only "stale" but "irrelevant". These people are just disgusting.

Just for the record, I only watched about 1/3 of last season's episodes. Sorkin's writing had become increasingly strident, filled with conservative hate, and just plain bad on its own merits. The show's ratings collapsed because the quality of the show collapsed, period. Whenever there was anything else good on in the same time slot (and there was another show I much preferred, though I can't think of it at the moment), that show got my eyeballs and I just said, "Eh, I'll watch West Wing in the summer." Except I never got around to it then, either. I don't have the desire any more.

I'll give it a few weeks this fall to see if it gets any better, and more fair to conservatives. If not, I'll give up on it for good.

stupid and cowboy come to mind.

Glad to see the cowboy title is right on the mark - comparing Bush to John Wayne and Gary Cooper.

Remember how we were all laughing at The New York Times not long ago when the circulation figures came out and it turned out the Times lost FIVE PERCENT of its circulation in the first six months of this year compared to the first six months of last year? When every single other major newspaper in the country stayed relatively flat or made slight gains? (Except the New York Post, whose circulation skyrocketed?) Well, there was just ONE other paper that did worse than the Times ... it lost over SIX PERCENT of its circulation in that incredibly small period of time. That paper was the Boston Globe. (Which, of course, is owned by The Times and directly controlled from The Times's boardroom in Manhattan.)

These hate-filled losers like Jurkowitz may be collecting paychecks for their spewage, but they're killing their newspapers in the process. Every single day, more and more people are giving up on The Times and The Globe in disgust ... and it won't be too much longer until The New York Times Company will be faced with a decision: Stop printing hate, or accept that their days of profitability are numbered.

Don't have showtime - maybe I'll have to wait until it comes out on DVD.

However, I have a binder containing the original Bob Woodward report. It's a facinating read and if the movie follows that - which it appears to do - it will be a real eye opener for most liberals who have heard nothing but negative from the democrats.

What a great treat for our President - first he gets to pitch in the World Series (a lifelong dream), and then he gets to land on a carrier. Good for him - he deserves lots of treats!!

I note your forte is "news media criticism".

No doubt there's enough work in that realm for hundreds more like you.

I don't watch much drama but I gotta admit my wife and I got hooked on NYPD-Blue reruns this summer and I am now in the same position as those lady "soap" lovers.

I can't believe it...but I'm actually looking forward to the start of the next season next month.

I won't sit through the 'live' version but tape it and watch it later.

For a while there I was startin' ta' tawk like Sipowicz, yanowhudImean?

The liberal media has not changed in decades--they are unreconstructed socialists/commies.

I have just read Mona Charen's great book "Useful Idiots" and much of it is about how the liberal media has proved their leftist bias time after time since the end of WW II.

I suggest that every Freeper read "Useful Idiots" and, of course "Treason" by our heroine, Ann Coulter. Both books together make for a great read of the truth, all backed by exact quotations from the useful leftist idiots, some of whom are still in power (examples: Kennedy, Dodds or making large leftist waves, like Michael Moore, the fatlib idiot).
