A former teacher from Tinley Park was being held on $1 million bail Friday on charges that he orchestrated the kidnapping of his son and ex-wife as part of a staged abduction in which he also feigned being a victim, authorities said.
Joseph Lyon, 45, who taught 6th grade at Jerling Junior High School in Orland Park, also is accused of robbing his ex-wife of $5,000.

This guy was my teacher when I was in 6th grade. He taught Social Studies and seemed to be a cool guy although he was a little nutty. I heard it on the radio this morning and couldn't believe it.
There has to be more to the story for it to be a million dollar bail.
