The rest of the world needs to pull their own weight or be recognized as parasites living off Americans who fought and died to bring peace and security to the world. To be partisans now reaches those depths only the self-serving can navigate.

Two Towers put us in the picture and its the Freaking Worst Mistake the Fanatic Muslims have ever made.

"Stay the Course" - that's what's it's all about. The terrorists are counting on us not to do that, and it looks like the Corrupt Party and assorted Leftists here and abroad are encouraging them to think that.

I agree with the present course. But any reservations I have must be multiplied by 1000 for most people. What are chances that $87B will buy the end of the terrorist threat or that abandoning Iraq increases it?

How well do you think it will play that European and Arab countries should pay because they have benefited and will benefit even more? He did use the example of the so-called Marshall plan. He said the investment in rebuilding Germany and Japan infrastructure and institutions paid for itself many times over.

Great commentary JH2.

It was interesting to listen to the commentary by the "professional" media last night. David Gergen topped them all, by likening GW's speech to the "desperate" speeches of LBJ and Nixon during Vietnam.

"For America," added Bush, "there will be no going back to the era before September the 11th, 2001 -- to false comfort in a dangerous world

Thank God for GWB, he gets it.

We won't find a better analysis anywhere. Wish some newspapers would offer this. Thanks.

Gergen got Dean's talking point; Nixon, LBJ and Vietnam.

Amazing how these "professionals" insisted all summer, "Bush must make a speech setting the costs", "he needs to be up-front" with the American people.

So now that that the boots on the ground can actually assess the situation, Bush tells us what is needed, and Gergen say's "He's desperate".

Talk about intellectual dishonesty by a supposed impartial "professional".

These people make me sick, is there no one who can be objective anymore?
