FREMONT -- A 41-year-old Fremont man whose dog was shot by police officers when they forcibly entered his house looking for marijuana plants has a prescription from his doctor to use pot and a certificate from the Oakland Cannabis Cooperative allowing him to grow and possess it, according to documents obtained by ANG Newspapers. Robert Filgo and his wife, Yvette Filgo, 38, were arrested Tuesday night after seven police officers served a search warrant at their Niles home and found 79 plants in the back yard and garage.

"I can't work," he said. "They have my computer with my customer list and billing information."

If the search warrent was fro marijuana why the hell id the steal his computer unless it was to bankrupt hm so he cant hire a lawyer to defend himself and sue the out of control roid ranging cops for killing his dog

Heres somthing to try if a police dog ever charges at you shoot it 7 times and then pead self defence nd see how far that gets uo after all the constitution says you have equel justice under the law right? That means if the cops can shoot civilian dogs in order to avoid injury hen you can shoot police dogs.Im sure they will understand and not be openly hypocritical its a goverment agency bound by the constitution after all /sarcasm

During the raid, their 1-year-old shepherd-Akita mix, Little Bear, was shot at nine times and killed as he charged officers, police said.

Welcome to the police state, Little Bear. Oops, you're already dead.

'a barking agressive dog' hmm how many dogs don't bark if unknown parties kick down the door and force there way into the residence. Nine shots to kill a year old Akita. What heroes.

I'll bet they do! 79 plants, interior lights and plumbing?

Akita/ Shepard mix (does not sound like a slipper fetcher).

Give me a break. Sorry about the dog.

Over pot? As the so-called government leaders pander to thousands of criminal illegal aliens....This is getting absolutely pathetic.......Their priorities are all jacked up.

The dog was clearly a dangerous master-criminal too. That's why they maimed him with three shots for the crime of barking at them and then blasted him with another six as he tried to run away.

The dog was charging BUTT-FIRST?

"Police say they have a right to defend themselves. "

A jury in Northern Idaho made the decision that Americans have the right to defend themselves against a tyrannical Government also.

There needs to be a political movement to stop this kind of police state mentality before we start getting in firefights with our own law enforcement.

Being a Victim is not an acceptable alternative.

"...was shot at nine times and killed as he charged officers, police said.... Then, at least one officer fired at the dog three times, striking him once in the rear."

Interesting how a killed dog can charge at officers and get shot once in the rear. Either that was a bad dog (to keep going after being murdered) or the last officer was a really sorry shot, (wouldn't be material for S.W.A.T.).

Before he could open the door, officers burst through, shouting that they had a warrant and were going to search the home, he said.

Then, at least one officer fired at the dog three times, striking him once in the rear.

The dog never had a chance, since his owner was never allowed time to find out who was at the door and tie up the dog afterwards.

I know cops could care less if the dog was tied up, they will probably kill him anyway.

It's so sad to think my dog will be shot dead by cops who are "to serve and protect." All the cops need is a warrant for a "drug" raid, which it includes the right to bust a door without knocking or without allowing reasonable time for the residents to answer.
