There are more registered democrats in Tom's district than there are Republicans. Tom is a State Senator, there is no way he can become speaker of the assembly. BTW, Dems control both sides of the aisle, thus the majority party will not vote for a minority party to hold that powerful post...
A very basic reading of Ca politics would point this out to you.
Having heard Tom speak the past few years on various issues, I am inclined to vote for him. I should be getting my absentee ballot tomorrow after sending in the app last week. Arnold has star power, but as a Governor, I do not think he has what it takes.
Bustamante? Yeah he could win, depends on turnout...would the state slip further into the morass. Remember we still have that wacky initiative process.

yup. and they have the recall leading by a much wider margin..

On another thread, someone compared some of these anti-Arnold comments with 5 year old kids playing a board game, and when they didn't like the rules or the way the outcome was shaping up, they would just knock over all of the game pieces. Actually...I'm quite different. I'd love to see McC win. I think he'd make a great governor...much more so than Schwarzendude. I just don't think he can win and his polls numbers agree.
If he had a chance he'd get my vote.
Since it's abundantly clear HE HAS NO CHANCE I'll vote for whoever can beat the racist bustmante. And, as I've already stated, I think many others will too, which will result in Tom getting around 5% of the vote. That assumes, of course, that he stays in. Should he stay in when it's clear he has no chance to win he'll be just as responsible for bustamante's election as will those who voted for him.

Thanks! Sometimes it's hard to keep them all straight! Now, who has the inside scoop on why Ueberroth is running and what it would take to get him out SOON? His voters for sure would not go to Bustamante.

Yeah, should be interesting. I don't by the Field Poll one iota!
To: Stars N Stripes
Its hard to imagine the low number of Undecided voters-- only 2%-- in that last SurveyUSA poll.

The Field poll shows an astounding number of undecideds. The SurveyUSA poll showed "certain" voters, and only had 2% undecideds. That's a pretty big difference.

I agree with you completely. I will vote for the GOP candidate that is mostly likely to win. I will be getting my absentee ballot in the next few days but will hold off voting until election day. Arnold has run such a poor campaign that his numbers could sink further. I Have great fear that Cruz will get in. Then our worst fears would have been realized. If it looks like Cruz is going to get in I may vote no on the recall.
To: KQQL
I'm not sure what to make of "Simon 8% (Left the race)." I wonder if the Field Poll people re-asked the question with Simon's name off of the list, since they re-asked the question with McClintock's name off the list.

When voters go to the polls, most of them do not want to waste their votes. I agree with you, Tom will get 5 - 10%, and that's enough of a margin, coupled with Ueberroth's figures, to make Cruz the Governor. Imagine the field day the Dems will have if they hold on to the Governorship?!?!
To: NYC Republican
if Tom isn't close to Arnold in polling a week before the election, he should step aside. He better step aside before that. Absentee votes are going out this week and many people will have already voted by then.

I am supporting Tom, but if the numbers stay this way...I will vote for Arnold. I want to vote for the best man, but refuse to allow Bustamove to get elected. It's almost become a dirty word....

Not that there's anything
wrong with that.

With 3 Republicans in there, in a primarily Dem state, it doesn't look good.
