Area is in central Jerusalem known as the German Colony (amazing name given the location). Not really. Eienstien for instance, was a German Jew. Lots of them went to Palistine before WW-II, and some of the few that were left afterwards also went there.

It's called "The German Colony" because that's the neighborhood in Jerusalem where many German-speaking Zionists from Europe settled after the First World War.
It had that name years before the Holocaust.
