Today marks the second anniversary of the day America came under attack. Events are planned at the Ground Zero, White House, Arliington and Shanksville.

Who called his family from Building 2 and told them that something had happened at Building 1, but he didn't want them to worry because he was fine. He was never heard from again.

No, no you can't. I like it better in fall, when most of the tourists have cleared out, when the leaves are changing. I can tell you that seeing Door County from the water is incredible--and you don't have to deal with the traffic.

What's even more disgusting than that quote was Katie Couric interviewing Hillary this morning and questioning whether or not the administration should have warned NY citizens about the air quality/pollution at ground zero. She was practically begging Hillary to blame the administration. THIS on a day of rememberance...

I am soooo glad someone mentioned this.!!! I was skipping around and stopped on Couric, and can't remember being as DISGUSTED as this morning ! This little...blank...(no word in the english language can describe her) is a scourge on american journalism. I am disgusted with her and have been for a long time. She is opaque in her liberal bias, and today she reigned Queen. TRAITOR.

The Trade Center Towers stood as symbols of power
But that day they were doomed for destruction
And filled as they were, with civilians for sure
They were targets for terrorist actions

When the first aircraft struck the North tower, it shook

In the building folks knew, there’d be rescue crews
And were certain that help, they’d be bringin’
While some ran off scared, others looked to the air
And discovered their peril had doubled
When the second plane hit, they all had to admit

Emergency teams from Manhattan to Queens
Spread word of the high-rise disaster
The police and the rescue-recovery crews
If they flew, couldn’t get there much faster
At the mountainous towers, the men climbed for an hour
To do battle with a fiery dragon
But emergency crews in the buildings soon knew
It was more than the beast they were battlin’

After the climb through the smoke and the grime
Came the radio calls of confusion
Then just after ten, the South Tower caved in
With a deafening roar of implosion
At half past ten, the North Tower fell in
Sending thousands of souls to their maker

When mountains and prayers are collapsed in despair

What I said before applies to you as well. But different to those who have birthday today, you know that the incident on Dec 7th 41 (and in particular the response) led to a "happy end". Today, we do not know that there will be a "happy end". We hope that all terrorists will be captured and punished, we hope that our republics and peoples will not go down, but we don´t know it. The victories in Afghanistan and Iraq are not the end. They´re the end of the beginning.

I'm going to see if my boss will let me weasel out of work a couple hours early today. My wife's already told me she's cooking me a birthday dinner tonight (too bad it's not PORK, heh heh heh), and then I'm going to enjoy a quiet evening at home, reading Free Republic, hoping the phone doesn't ring (I'm on call at work) and in general, enjoying the fruits of my labor, and of a freedom that these Islamic nutburgers cannot dream of--indeed, cannot even conceive.

I had dibs on September 11 for thirty-five years before we ever heard of Mohammad Atta and his Satan-spawned jihadis. I'll be damned if the bastards are going to take it from me.

God bless all of my fellow 9/11 birthday boys and girls, and God bless those that are out there protecting us day after day.

My tears began anew when I heard some of the statements of the nine stooges. I cannot get the lump out of my throat at the thought that they would tear down this country and our president at a time when our young are risking their lives for the very future of the world.

You had only to turn on the TV this morning to hear the dems tearing at the fragile fabric of our psyche. Slashing at the President, Rumsfeld, Ashcroft and our men and women in the military.

We must never let such an outrage go unanswered.
