Bush to Host King of Jordan at Camp David

The war in Iraq will be a key topic of discussion next week at Camp David between President Bush and King Abdullah II of Jordan, although the Arab leader said Thursday that he's not likely to send peacekeepers to the shattered nation.

Jordan is providing humanitarian assistance, evacuating war victims and setting up mobile hospitals, but Abdullah said deploying Jordanian peacekeeping troops, or Arab forces, to Iraq remains a sensitive issue.

"Jordan is a close friend of the United States and a partner in the fight against terror and the pursuit of Middle East peace," White House press secretary Scott McClellan said Thursday in announcing the visit, Sept. 18-19, by Abdullah and Queen Rania of Jordan.
