Thank you! :) I just wrote the Governor, Boxer and Feinstein the letter I posted a few days ago on FR with additions, I would have exploded not telling them off now.

"California spends at least $3 billion a year on illegal aliens, providing health, education and welfare at the expense of the state's taxpayers, incarcerating illegals who get themselves arrested committing non-immigration-related felonies."

Excellent article, thanks for posting.

As a legal immigrant you can't even get welfare for the first 10 years (parents-in-law had to sign a statement to give financial aid if I need it, before I was allowed 'in') which is fine! So, why should illegals get it?

You're absolutely right. Every time illegals are given yet another special benefit or privilege, it's a slap in the face to every legal immigrant who waited his turn, paid the fees, filled out the forms, took the tests, jumped through the hoops, and did everything the legal way. It's enough to make you feel like a sap for having done things the right way! As an American, I sometimes feel like a stupid sucker for paying taxes, paying for auto and medical insurance, and for obeying the law.

" They are here paying taxes. They pay $1,400 more a year than they get back in assistance."| - Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante

Then lets hope California never asks for any federal money, they should have no problem getting their budget balanced with all that money coming in from the illegals.

Californians should vote Republican at the local level and when that fails to control illegal immigration...vote for the BIGGEST government being offered at the national level. In other words, let ALL the generous liberal states pay for the failed liberal policies of the most populated state in the nation.

"Indeed, there were more than enough Americans willing to pick fruit and harvest produce, mow lawns and trim hedges, prepare meals and bus tables and clean up rooms and do laundry before the influx of more than 7 million illegal aliens."

Odd that there is so much media buzz about overweight teenagers. There aren't many things that illegals are doing today that I didn't do for any amount of money when I was growing up.

Californians will hire illegals to care for their tiny lawns and homes while they pay $100 a month to drive miles from their home to an exercise gym.

Hey -- I was born in Nurnberg! I drove through Germany a couple of years ago and passed by it (what a beautiful country!), but couldn't stop because my time was short. I suspect you do miss your country-of-birth, but am happy that you've made your home here! You're among friends! :-)

I had bratwurst when I was a kid there, and have never tasted that here in the States; not sure what made it different, but it sure was tasty! I have my dad's lederhosen, and wear it around the house when I want to make my wife laugh. :-)

Ooooh the famous Nuernberg Bratwurst! In a crunchy kaiser roll with mustard, yummy. That's usually the first thing my Mom has waiting for us when we arrive, haha. It's a secret receipe they use. Same with Nuernberg Gingerbread, secret receipes in the families for hundreds of years. You got the Lederhosen! You should do a "Schuhplatteln" (the dance and slapping hands on the lederhosen thing) haha> MONI
