Currently, we only track the number of handgun permits issued, he said. Now we will track the number of people in Boone County applying for the right to carry a concealed weapon and create a system to identify who they are.Hmmmm...

Responsible gun owners have been carrying concealed weapons already, he said. Now they will be able to do so legally. That sums it up exactly.
Chief Randy "Fritz" Boehm would likely crap in his pants if he had any idea how many Americans armed themselves on a daily basis, with or without the "permission" of the gov't.
After all, a Free people have every Right to do so.

I disagree with the way it was written, but I will do my part to uphold the law, Boehm said. Good. Being law enforcer and not a legislator, we would expect nothing less.

More concealed handguns is not positive, he said. It means more potential for problems, If I were a Chief of Police...I wouldnt have any problem with a Police State...after I quite being one and no longer enjoyed power or privilige or fell out of favor with those in power I would resent the hell out of it...

I'll be applying for my permit as soon as they come out with the paperwork.
Whether I carry or not, and when I carry or not, is irrelevant.
