Springsteen Calls for Bush's Impeachment (9/15/03)

Aging rocker Bruce Springsteen added a little political spice to his Washington, D.C., concert at FedEx Field Saturday night when, according to concertgoer accounts, he called for President Bush's impeachment.

"It's time to impeach the president and get a man in there to get us out of this mess," the Boss allegedly roared, according to FreeRepublic.com's Kristinn Taylor, co-leader of the group's D.C. chapter.

Another concertgoer told an online Springsteen discussion group that Bruce "got a little political, which I thought was great, but he definitely seemed to lose a bit of the crowd around me when he suggested we impeach Bush."

Others thought the Boss was merely joking, since he suggested that Bush be replaced by fellow E Street bandmember Clarence Clemons. But Springsteen reportedly followed his impeachment exhortation with complaints about past and present elected leaders who have misled the country.

During a Boston performance this past Wednesday, Springsteen prefaced his rendition of "Born in the U.S.A." with a statement he termed "a public service announcement" about holding our political leaders accountable.

According to the Boston Herald, he closed the show by plugging Al Franken's latest Republican-bashing book.

Last April, Springsteen defended the Dixie Chicks after lead singer Natalie Maines said she was ashamed that President Bush was from her home state of Texas.

"To me, they're terrific American artists expressing American values by using their American right to free speech," the Boss insisted on his Web site.

Isn't Bruce Springsteen that guy who "sings" like he's straining at...oops! Sorry. I didn't mean to say that.

Bruce is off the wagon.

He's in this Twilight Zone reality that requires more and more musicians to produce less and less cognitive sound while he and the others gyrate and thrust their guitars on stage like a porn star in a hurry.

I swear Max Weinberg must go through 200 sticks and 40 drumheads a month. If Clarence Clemmons bobs up and down while blowing the maximum 45 second sax solo he's going to get a reed stuck in his throat.

"The Boss" is a clueless jerk-off.

Springstein is a liberal loser.

I do not like his music anymore due to his political stance

"To me, they're terrific American artists expressing American values by using their American right to free speech

...in England.

Of course, most of these "free-speechers" don't have the guts to criticize America in America. At least Springsteen does (not that I like him any more for it).

Have to agree on the anal oriface description. Saw him in Giants stadium FOR THE LAST TIME!! He was so into himself it was sickening .. Time for pasture for the monotone man .Took 20 minutes of "music??" to introduce the band . Lowest spot on my concert circuit this summer .

Anyone ever notice all these rich musicians and movie starts talking about how we need to help the poor while they're in their multi-million dollar homes? I'm not attacking them for making money but these are some of the people who work the least and get the most. If they cared about the poor so much why don't they open a hostle or something to actually help poor people before they buy homes that more than 99% of the people in America can only dream of living in.

You know, I've noticed that too. He sings like he is trying to pass a huge obstruction. Problem is, politically he does, all the time...a huge pile of excrement. Nothing like stinking it up. What a stupid airhead!!!

We already impeached the President who got us into this mess (economy and current way) and elected someone to get us out. BS must have been sleeping or in a drug induced coma.

What happened to high crimes and misdemeanors? Now a "mess" is grounds for impeachement?
