After being rebuffed by Jackson, Clark, according to various media reports at the time, then ordered Admiral James Ellis, the American in charge of NATO's southern command, to use Apache helicopters to occupy the airfield. Ellis didn't comply--replying that British General Jackson would oppose such a move.

Interesting. It sounds like all the NATO commanders got together behind Wesley Clark's back and decided he was NUTS and to disobey his orders in order to prevent WWIII.

Indeed, it is believed in military circles that Clark's Pristina incident was the final straw that led the Pentagon to relieve him of his duties (actually retire him earlier).

Clark pretends that he doesn't know why he was fired. He knows. It was because he acted like a mental case in Kosovo.

This surprised Clark because he claims that the original suggestion to block the Russians came from Washington. Clark maintains that the matter was a policy problem between the US and British governments and insists that he was carrying out the suggestions of the Clinton Administration.

Interesting. So was Clinton the one behind Clark attempting to spark a major war with the Russians?

The other day, Clark told Bill Maher on HBO that this country was founded on "the idea that people could talk, reason, have dialogue, discuss the issues…We can't lose that in this country. We've got to get it back."

I thought Clark said this country was founded on the idea of progressive taxation. Anyway, I pray that Dean is nominated and chooses Clark as his running mate. Clark's record will frighten the public due to his utter irresponsibility.

the staggering cost of the badly bungled Iraqi occupation has diminished the Republican advantage on defense no matter who runs against Bush.

LOL! You should have said: "Even clueless lefties think Wesley Clark is nuts"

Wesley Clark as a Veep candidate will be to Dean what Curtis "Bombs Away" LeMay was to George Wallace. One difference though. LeMay was actually a SUCCESSFUL general who was clueless when it comes to politics. Clark is also clueless about politics and was a HORRIBLE general.

Clark was also the mastermind of the assault on the Branch Davidians.

Clark does sound strange, but
we have to remember that
to left-wing scum types

anyone who acts
based on principles is nuts...
Maybe Clark is weird --

he's a Clinton friend --
I would never dismiss him
just because reports

from other toadies
of the Establishment say
he's too gung-ho tough...

This was only the most publicized incident. Earlier in the war, Clark also tried to bomb a couple of Russian ships stationed in the Aegean to observe the war. Fortunately the White House refused permission. But Clark was just itching to be the first commander since World War II ended to confront the Russians on the field directly. NO other commander ever ventured to do that, nor did the Russians ever venture to confront us directly. It was just too dangerous. They and we always used proxies.

Until Clark, who seemed to forget that the Russians still have more than 10,000 nuclear warheads in their arsenal.

Clark says he is a liberal Democrat who favors abortion rights, affirmative action, gun control and progressive economic policies. He has also spoken eloquently about basing America's role in the world on the country's better principles: "generosity, humility, engagement… "

Gee, a man who not that many months ago didn't seem to know what party he belonged now calls himself a liberal? And out of all these positions; abortion, affirmative action, gun control, progressive economic policies, generosity and humility, I don't find one that has a thing to do with the United States founding or greatness.

Watch her on Scarborough. He ridicules her to such an extent that she is a different person on that show. Joe uses the Irish charm to skewer with a smile.

Good point.

We ought to be scared spitless at the thought of this guy as Commander In Chief.

At least Clark is consistent in his total disgregard for the sanctity of human life...whether it be babies in the womb, or women and children under his bombs in Serbia.

Clark told Bill Maher on HBO that this country was founded on "the idea that people could talk, reason, have dialogue, discuss the issues…

Yes, but. That is only part of the equation. The more important part of the founding "idea" was that the talking, reasoning, discussing, would take place within a framework of a republican form of government, with limited and defined powers for the Federal government, in which temporary passions of democracy (raised during discussing and "dialogue") would not be allowed to overturn inalienable rights.

Katrina realizes that Clark is so nutty that even if he were just picked for Veep candidate he would pull the Demmycrats down the tubes in the general election which is why I am hoping that Dean chooses Clark as his Veep. I would LOVE for Clark to explain his statement that this country was founded on the idea of progressive taxation.
