But one must ask, where's Tom Ridge and the Homeland Security office? The silence from that department on this issue has been shocking. And George W. Bush has had multiple opportunities to condemn this act and he, too, has said nothing. Both Gray Davis and George W. Bush will find that while they take certain voting blocs for granted, California is sending a message to the rest of the nation that we're mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore. They should do the numbers and realize that it's not Mexicans who are here illegally who will keep them in office, or kick them out. It's "the rest of us," we pesky American citizens who, while we may shy away from noisy rallies and demonstrations, do march to the voting booth. Just watch what happens on Oct. 7 in California.
