I need Freerepublic help finding a picture of John Kerry
Sep 16, 2003 | Ice Flyer

Posted on 09/16/2003 5:55:42 PM PDT by ICE-FLYER

John Kerry wore the flag on the seat of his pants one time during a protest he joined in on after his return from Vietnam, or at least so the Boston Globe claims.

I need Freeper help. I want very much to see that picture and send a copy to my mom who would love to show it to the liberals she works with at Mass General in Boston.

I thank you all in advance as this web site has the best people on the WWW.

Found this reference:

Durkin was more aggressive, running full-page newspaper ads with "CENSORED" splashed across them after failing to win permission to reprint the cover of Kerry's 1971 book, "The New Soldier," featuring Vietnam veterans, in an Iwo Jima-like pose, except hoisting a US flag flying upside down, a sign of distress.

but no photo.

But if you locate that book and take a photo of somebody holding it up close on the camera then that photo can legally be posted here on FR.

Got to be some old used books in some bookstore out there and one with a good dust jacket/cover.

Shortly after taking office in 1985, Kerry and Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa went on a fact-finding trip to Nicaragua, where they met with Daniel Ortega (right) and other Sandinistas. The trip was criticized when the Sandinistas cemented ties with Moscow.

Who's the lady standing next to Harkin? Mrs. Harkin?

Just curious, as a thread here (sometime in the last couple of years)
showed that Senator Harkin's release of personal financial info. showed that
Mrs. Harkin had over a fair chunk of Conoco stock (something between $100K to $500K).

Kerry and Senator Tom Harkin...met with Daniel Ortega (right) and other Sandinistas.

Here, there, everywhere, the Yankee will die!

translated from a chant in Spanish by Sandinista children on CBS's Sixty Minutes
some years ago...
Of course, the Sandinistas/Commies don't deliver on their promise when
meeting Yankees who are fellow travelers...

Rest assured if Kerry ever wins the White House his front door will be open to every Socialist, Communist and Islamist who requests a meeting.

And besides that, he is haughty and French-looking.

in on after his return from Vietnam, or at least so the Boston Globe claims.

For leads, try
1. The Boston Globe; maybe if you pretend to be a 50's-something anti-Vietnam
war protestor wanting a momento from your "glory days", you might get some help.
2. Sorry I can't remember the name, but isn't there a more conservative newspaper in
Boston (more conservative than The Globe)?
3. The office of any elected Republican in Massachussetts (don't expect any
to be too enthused about touching this one with the proverbial ten-foot pole).
4. Get a constituent to call the good Senator's office. Try to get a cofirm or deny
statement, preferably in a letter.
Just in case you do track down a copy of a photo that would reveal any sort
of denial to be a fib.

See also, from www.boston.com:

As an antiwar leader, John Kerry was arrested with hundreds of others after protesting on the green in Lexington, Mass., on May 31, 1971. The Nixon White House identified Kerry as the movement's most effective spokesman. (AP File Photo)

Kerry's 1971 book later became the focus of controversy because of the cover photo which showed of veterans hoisting an upside-down US flag.

..still searching, but how about this for Mom (and her liberal acquaintances)?

"...Heard of Watergate? Get ready for Lowellgate.

"On Sept. 18, 1972, the evening before the primary election during his second attempt for Congress, Kerry's brother Cameron and one Thomas Vallely, both part of his current campaign team, were arrested by Lowell police at 1:40 a.m. and charged with breaking and entering with the intent to commit larceny. The two were apprehended in the basement of a building whose door had been forced open, police said. It housed the headquarters of candidate DiFruscia. The Watergate scandal was making headlines at this time, and it was called the Lowell Watergate.

"'They wanted to sever my telephone lines,' DiFruscia said recently. Had those lines been cut, Kerry's opponent would not have been able to telephone supporters on Election Day to get out the vote and coordinate poll watchers, vital roles in a close election. 'I do not know if they wanted to break into my office,' says DiFruscia today. At the time he said, 'All my IBM cards and the list of my voter identification in the greater Lowell area are in my headquarters.'

"Cameron and Vallely, along with David Thorne, who was Kerry's campaign manager at the time and has been close to him since they attended Yale together, did not deny the two entered the building in which they were captured. They said at the time they were in the cellar of the building to check their own telephone lines because they had received an anonymous call warning they would be cut.

"This reporter heard an allegation that another congressional candidate placed the alleged anonymous call, which was denied. But if the Kerry campaign was concerned about someone breaking and entering to cut off its telephone service, why didn't they just call the police? Why break the law? And what does any of this say about Kerry's mind-set? Kerry campaign officials did not answer important Lowellgate questions.

"The case was transferred to superior court and continued without a finding, where it was dismissed about a year later. But since it happened at the last minute, and Kerry won the primary but went on to lose the general election, this ugly business did not receive intense media scrutiny. Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein were busy investigating another break-in...."
