And what happens when you punish your child for lying and then you finally do look “under the bed” and find that there are indeed no toys hidden there?

Obviously, you don't have children do you?

There is no doubt that WMD exist, and for Bush, Powell, and the Bush administration to keep insisting that there is WMD should at least give people a heads up. I would say even if they can not release the info for some security reasons, it would make sense, but why can't they give us a report card on the status of the situation?

There is no question that the WMD are under the bed...

Before the invasion of Iraq, I too was convinced that WMD not only existed in Iraq but that they posed a real threat to the safety of America. I believed President Bush when he said that American troops may have to die in an effort to find and destroy those weapons and I completely supported his decision. However, (at least to this point) no weapons of mass destruction have been found in Iraq. Suggestions that there really are WMD in Iraq but the administration can’t say anything about it for security reasons is ridiculous considering American troops are the security in Iraq. Even more preposterous is the notion that President Bush is withholding information to later embarrass Democrats.

It appears that either President Bush lied to the American public or he and the rest of our government were ill-informed. In either case, the lives of American soldiers were sacrificed for that lie or misinformation. Both those who supplied the information and those that acted upon it should be held responsible – no matter what political party.
