Also, he was drummed out of the military because he could not get along with his subordinates. Not a very ringing endorsement. Those same subordinates would be under him if he were Commander in Chief.

--Clark wanted to block the Pristina airport runway with vehicles to prevent Russia from reinforcing its small Kosovo garrison. Provacative? yes. but he didn't order anyone to attack the Russians.
