Race Card Is the Sign of a Losing Hand. Opposition to Proposition 54 promotes a 'victim' culture.

The arguments against Proposition 54 — the state initiative that would spare Californians the indignity of declaring their race on state forms and applications — bring to mind the joke about the man driven to his roof by rising floodwaters. A rowboat comes to rescue him but he turns it down. "God will save me," he says. A helicopter and a speedboat come next but he turns them down as well. "God will save me," he keeps saying. Finally the waters overwhelm him and he drowns. When he gets to heaven, he is outraged. "God, why didn't you save me?" God glares down at him. "You fool, I sent two boats and a helicopter. What more do you want?"

also didn't Bustamonte SWEAR AN OATH to uphold our government and not TO SUPPORT THE VIOLENT OVERTHROW OF CALIFORNIA?

Can a civic-minded Californian make a citizen's arrest to that effect?

Are Californians forced to put race? Can't they all just check "other"?

"other"? There is no such other. However, there's usually a whole section devoted to "other" and it doesn't mean UFO alien. But, legal or illegal immigrant. But "other"? Nope

the nutty legislature also was trying to put througha bill to force people to check a racist box on their voter registration --- why collect this info? and BTW didn't Lt. Governor Bustamonte SWEAR AN OATH to uphold our government and not TO SUPPORT THE VIOLENT OVERTHROW OF CALIFORNIA?

What happens if you don't check any? I didn't check any on my last census form and the guy came to my house trying to find out why. He was nice enough about it --- he said they were seeing a lot of boxes not checked even though there were plenty of selections.

Shelby Steele is right. However the Democratic Party and the race hustlers will fight tooth and nail to keep the race card so blacks stay captive on the Liberal Plantation.

Some folks who didn't check the box here in CA -- were nicely and repeatedly harassed by census workers.
