I won't use THEIR term for Mrs.,Miss.....
..I never have...never will....because I know where it originated and it's been a button pusher for me for years!
When my husband was in grad school, and we were married, the feminists were infiltrating the campuses & targeting the wives (mostly with babies) of students and promoting their propaganda.
...they hammered us---at first with velvet tones---how bored, unappreciated we must feel....
...and if we disagreed, it got ugly!!!
I know of what I speak.....I innocently went to their meeting....
..as naive as I was, I knew this didn't sound right.
I'm sick of the feminist agenda!
Even after all this time, I truly hate to get mail addressed to Ms.
If they can't take the time to find out my status, then I don't feel guilty in tossing their mail!
I, on the other hand, am sick of getting mail addressed to "Mrs." I am single by choice, financially secure, and own my own home (plus a vacation home). This seems to convince every contractor, fuel oil company, etc. that I must be a "Mrs.", so they put the title on for me. One contractor who I'd asked to come and give me an estimate for an addition to my house, sent me a letter telling me to make sure my husband was also present for the appointment (salesman wants to close the sale, you know, and figures he can't do that without the imaginary husband present) -- I cancelled the appointment.
Isn't the feminist movement history? With so many of those who bought into it facing a life without children and close family, it seems to have waned. Only a few shrill voices and a lot of women to whom it brought unhappiness and heartache remain. Another set of bad ideas on scrap heap of history. Am I wrong?
