Three people have been arrested in what may be the state's first case of fraud stemming from misuse of the new electronic benefits transfer cards for welfare recipients, Fresno police said Monday. Fresno police, state Alcoholic Beverage Control and U.S. Department of Agriculture agents served search warrants at one home and three businesses last week, Sgt. Darryl Green said.

All the stores and the Muslim perps need to do is make sure Gray Davis gets his cut of the fraud action, and this prosecution will disappear like smoke. The medals will come once CAIR denounces the prosecution as yet another example of rampant anti-Muslim bias in America.

Wouldn't surprise me a bit.

We qualify for foodstamps in Oklahoma right now. (Temporary situation, due to our own decisions, and we are not taking them; we are managing without the dole.) I was stunned to find out that we'd get over $640/month for a family of five. I have never spent that much on groceries. I admit I buy in bulk and rotate food storage, which saves us a lot of money, but still...for $640/month, I could spend more than $21/day on food. That's an incredible amount. I'm not even sure you can make a "healthy" diet on that kind of food budget.
