Schwarzenegger Is Under the Gun (IN article: MORE outrageous Davis spending!!!)

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 18 -- With California's recall election in limbo, candidates are biding their time by taking up a new hobby: bashing Arnold Schwarzenegger.

McClintock regularly mentions Schwarzenegger's absence from debates. "One would expect that a candidate for governor would feel comfortable having an unscripted conversation before the voters about the crucial issues facing this state," he said in an interview.

Davis, meanwhile, continued his campaign to persuade voters to give him another chance. With civil rights leader Jesse L. Jackson by his side, the governor spoke today at Los Angeles Southwest Community College, whose students are predominantly black and Latino. He repeated the charge that the recall is being led by "the same crowd that misused the Constitution to impeach President Clinton and abused the judicial system to stop the vote count in Florida."

Later in the day, Davis made environmentalists happy when he announced he would sign two bills to allow the state to spend almost $140 million in bond money to purchase the last piece of undeveloped coastal wetlands in Los Angeles. The Ballona Creek wetlands were once owned by billionaire Howard Hughes, who built airplanes on the site. The 600 acres will be restored as a natural area.

In his seventh town hall-style meeting Wednesday night, Davis apologized again for his leadership. At one point, he said he had isolated himself in office with lawmakers, lobbyists and staff. "I'm not going to leave people out of the equation," he promised.

California is almost bankrupt and he wants to waste more money. I am familiar with the "wetlands". The private builders already set aside a part to preserve it. We need the government to buy it, the way we need a long, bushy tail. Especially now!

This is another example of Davis being bought by special interests.

Repeat:"...he announced he would sign two bills to allow the state to spend almost $140 million in bond money to purchase the last piece of undeveloped coastal wetlands in Los Angeles."

Davis can do this, and will do this, everyday until he is chased out of office. He can spend money Californians don't have without any bothersome scruple. There is no bottom to the depths to which Grayout Davis can sink, no bottom.

The same goes for Bustamante, including ceding California lock, stock and barrel, to Mexico.

One of the best things we're learning is that that dog just won't hunt. It won't hunt for the nine, now ten, dwarves, and it won't hunt for the utterly discredited Grayout Davis.

It's a broken-down old cur that has mange, fleas, and even rabies (proof? the Leftists are all foaming at the mouth continually.)

If the RATS were smart they would put that mangy old thing down with a bullet to the back of the head. But I don't think they are smart enough--it's all they've got, and they are gonna run that old hound til either he dies or they do.

Actually, if you had a long, bushy tail, the government would probably take much better care of you.

The way this game is going, I'd not be surprised if next week we see McClintock backing Davis against recall.

Gray's truly outrageous spending shall commence the moment the 3 Marxist's are overturned and the election is re-instated for October 7, 2003.

Gray has over $14 million he's itching to spend in his attempt to retain his ill-gotten power.

I like how you restructured the article and gave Tom McClintock's remarks such prominence. LOL The fact is, Tom McClintock isn't attacking Arnold, he's telling the truth with pointed criticism and the facts.

Instead of facing the fire and the scrutiny of debating, Arnold ran over for a softball interview by LarryLight. More proof that Arnold has serious problems answering questions from his opponents. More proof that Arnold is an empty suit.

Davis, among others, is pandering to the environmental extremists.

Dana Carvy was on Leno – very funny.

He endorsed Arnold and half heartily endorsed W.

He calls Gray Davis - Gay Davis and Cruz Bustagroove.

Some funny stuff on Clinton.

Thought that was interesting.

LOL, I see you ducked out on the thread about Tom sealing a deal with Bustamante to go after Schwarzenegger. Even Arianna wanted to see the letter McClintock agreed to sign sight unseen before she'd sign.

McClintock, handmaiden to the California democrat party. LOL

The Democrats are swinging hard at rural folk and the bills are coming across Davis' desk for signature.

There is SB 1049 that will levy a $35 per parcel fee for CDF wildland fire proptection. There was Burton's bill that killed the $18 million riral crime initiative monies to pay for the $20 million for illegal alien's driver's licenses. There is also SB 810, which will remove the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF) and the Board of Forestry from lead jurisdiction over Timber Harvest Plans on private land in "impaired" water quality watersheds, and put the Regional Water Quality Control Boards in charge of permitting logging.

Betcha Davis signs every one.

"I think that we should stop the oil drilling and I think that our state government and federal government should negotiate to buy back the leases..." --Arnold Schwarzenegger

That's a great quote! You can append these additional notes and quotes so that you can burnish your reputation for facts in context:

Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, seeking a second term in November, escorted to the White House members of the Collier family who are to receive $120 million for their oil and gas drilling rights if Congress approves the agreement sealed with a presidential handshake in the Oval Office.

Append your nifty quotes with this news story: Jeb Bush stops Floria oil drilling by having govt. buy leases

I don't know what your talking about and besides, this has nothing to do with me. This is all about Arnold continuing to run from debating his political opponents on the issues. Specifically, this is about Arnold running from debating his conservative challenger, Tom McClintock. Arnold continues to speak in generalities and refuses to face the fire and scrutiny of public debates. The Sept24TH debate provides candidates with the questions in advance and that is not debating. The Schwarzenegger campaign isn't interested in specifics and details of the issues. Arnold's campaign is more like a scripted Hollywood movie, with the character of fantasy politician played by Arnold, rehearsing his lines and acting like a candidate to the best of his ability. Btw, its been a lousy acting job by AS.

Truth is obvious to anyone willing to open their eyes. Arnold has shown he doesn't have the cojones to debate and remains a coward.

If you'll read up on this debate, I think you'll change your mind. There's a thread up right now where the person setting up the debate describes the format. The other candidates will have considerable time to grill Schwarzenegger on any subject they want. They will NOT be limited to the pre-released topics.
