Here is a long and excellent article on the influence of communism in American society. He mentions Ann Coulter's book "Treason" and expands upon it. I think FReepers will enjoy this.

How deeply did this treason affect American films? There has never been a single dramatic film or television program about the Gulag. Hollywood, quite rightly, has made many films about the Holocaust and the persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany, but Hollywood has never made a film about the other holocaust, the extermination of tens of millions of innocent people in the Soviet Union...Why does this bias continue? Because it would indict the very people who have drummed the crimes Holocaust endlessly. The Holocaust was a terrible series of events, Hitler practically got his idea for concentration camps from Stalin. Lastly, (man, do not hammer me for this) the Russian Jews played a large part in the formation and support of the Reigns of Terror in the Soviet Union.

Excellent article. Ann's book did an outstanding job of bringing to light the left's enchantment with communism during those days. But if you really want to see hatred, go to Barnes and Noble and look at the reviews of her book. To be sure there are good, detailed reviews, including mine. But the one star reviews are extremely numerous, sometimes posted twice (reducing her rating). Not one reflects a review of the book, but a condemnation of Ann and her politics.
This speaks volumes for the book as well as Ann. Why would the left mount such a strong campaign against the book? Yet, not one of her assertions or facts is challenged on its face.
Guess the left is waiting for their premier historian Franken to attempt to rescue history for them...

Because the entire culture of the establishment in America was consciously transformed by communists -Yes it was. More so than many comprehend. One example that comes to mind is RFK. He went from being a staff lawyer for McCarthy to a sycophant of the communist, Ceaser Chavez. America had accepted "co-existence" with an enemy that had only contempt for those that accepted this form of appeasement.
Soviet style communism is a bullet we may have missed, but America has communists of its own, with their own agendas.

After reading Venona Secrets, I cried bitter tears, my FRiend. I thought Venona (in conjunction with the opening of Russian archives to us) was one of the most important discoveries of the century.
May the LORD help us all.
