These Democrats are the ones who volunteer, contribute and ultimately go to the polls in state primaries. Why Dean and not Dennis?
Hmmm...perhaps because for all his myriad deficiences, Dean didn't hire a staff of loonytunes more reminiscent of the Reverend Jim Jones than any competent administrator, didn't drive the state of Vermont into default, didn't barely dodge recall by cutting a deal with a powerful and largely corrupt political machine, and didn't get de-elected so harshly after only one term that the other party, despite being such a small minority in the city that they had no council seats, held the mayorship for the next decade.
