But, in this circumstance - you can be certain that this puke was given the ground rules for his visits to the detainees and exactly what he could and could not do or leave with...
If charges are true.....this guy needs to fry..... perhaps in his case - stir fry..

"I refer, of course, to the actions of R.E. Lee, J.E.B. Stuart, Jeff Davis, James Longstreet, etc., etc..."
Lol, (now that I'm no longer on active duty) I'll take the bait.
1. They were paroled and NEVER charged.
2. The officers above were far more in compliance with the United States Constitution than Lincoln or Stanton.
3. Robert E. Lee is probably the most revered (by his subordinates) US officer (general) that ever served, after him, probably Stonewall Jackson. And that includes Washington.
4. There must indeed be some federal recognition of General Lee's rank because there are portraits of him at the library and mess hall at West Point. Indeed, I think a wing of the cadet barracks is named after him.

I appreciate your views. Its pretty tough seeing this happen. I read the Wash times article.
"...S.C., charged with sedition, espionage, aiding the enemy, spying and failing to obey a general order..."
Typical media to screw things up. They obviously don't understand military justice (even though it is the good guys, wash times). I don't think they have had time to charge him with anything. He is problably being held on suspicion of those charges, but there is no way he could have been formally charged for a capital (death penalty) crime so quickly.
Even though the FBI picked him up, he will be charged under UCMJ and not civilian courts. Which is a good thing, because, imho, military courts martial are a lot fairer to the accused than federal courts. Make no mistake though, if the evidence exists, he will be found guilty.
I'm still skeptical of the evidence though. The FBI loves publicity and trying their cases in the media. I'm going to take a wait and see approach to this.

Lets see the pictures of the doucments he supposedly had. Think about that for a moment... the documents are things we don't want the enemy or presstitutes to see. So don't expect to see them in public until they are wholly useless and all the names involved are moot.

Travis, nice pic.
I may be able to help out, to donate some slightly used and slightly frayed rope, but guaranteed not to chafe or break.
And may Yee join his dark spirit pals real soon-like.....
Yee haw. Hear Yee, hear Yee, Yee gods.

Portsmouth Naval Prison has been decommissioned for a number of years now (over ten)

He was a JAG officer on top of all that. Not at all surprising. By far the largest group of "professionals" at the MDB consist of lawyers and chaplains. Perhaps one of best illustrations of the infiltration of society's [lack of] values into the last bulwarks of civilization.
I have to admit, the JAG population at Leavenworth didn't suprise me in the least but the chaplain population was a real eye-opener. Hopefully, the rabbi that took off for Canada just before the 3d ID deployed for Iraq will be joining them Real Soon Now.

So, before we all jump to conclusions, I'm going to wait till the evidence comes out before I join in the cry for his head. Free Jonathan Pollard, heh ?
Yee committed treason. We are at war. He is with the terrorists. Real Americans may die (hopefully they were running CI in time and none will) because of him.

I'm still skeptical of the evidence though. Just because the Two Towers are down, the Pentagon was attacked, and they are coming for us doesn't mean they are bad people ... The FBI loves publicity and trying their cases in the media. I'm going to take a wait and see approach to this.If we lose, and we must not, it will be due to a lack of will to defend ourselves.

"Free Jonathan Pollard, heh ?"
Not at all. You have already convicted him in your own mind based upon mere media reports. I hate to bust your bubble, but the feds (law enforcement types, not military) lie all the time. Don't jump to conclusions. As I posted before, should he be found guility based upon real evidence in a court martial, then I'll join the crowd.
Surely you have confidence in the military justice system, being the USAF vet that you are.

Unbelievable
Well, perhaps not. You really believe it.

I don't see how you can draw the conclusion you have shown in bold letters based upon my comments.

You are too emotional. Calm down. This thread is about Captain Yee, a US citizen and army officer. He is entitled to due process.
You drag up Osama Bin Laden out of no where. Quit reading things into my posts that are not there.

ministering to Osama Bin Laden's team.
Of course he would not have been there but for the incompetence or worse of others in the Army and the Administration(s).
