I was 19 when JFK was shot. I'm well aware of the things he did, including abandoning the Cubans at the bay of pigs, and the missles of October in Cuba, and the trade with Kruschev in Turkey, and his affairs.
That was not my point, and it appears you missed it completely. The words he spoke in that speech you won't hear today from any democrat. The party has changed from a bastion of power and might to it's cowardly present day form. You will have evil always, but today's evil is sponsored and supported by the democrats. It wouldn't have been in JFK's time. You would never hear the today's democrats say:
Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.
Words to me have more substance when its backed by the actions of the speaker. I see JFK as having a great speech writer (stealing most thoughts from The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran)but one of the most morally corrupt scumbags since Clinton. He has the Mafia help steal the 1960 election, shoot speed in the oval office to help him with a deadly glandular condition Addison disease that he kept secret from the American people, bones inturns betraying his family and sets up Amreican soldiers to die in Cuba and Vietnam. To be truthful I have more respect for Truman as the Democrap that was indeed worth a crap! But its a party of moral degeneracy. Theres nothing left to it because there was nothing to it at all.
